I attended Gov. Ted Strickland's State of the State address to the City Club of Cleveland on Friday. Upon my arrival, I came upon one of the weirdest protests I've ever seen. A group (name unknown ) was protesting the Governor and the recently passed state budget.
Say what you want about the Governor and the budget, but marching in a circle, chanting inaudible chants, and caring a casket (shrouded in a black cloth - WTF?) is the apparently the community organizers' equivalent of lobbying.
The weirdest part was this crazy old guy dressed like the Jolly Old Elf, passing out dum dum lollie pops. OK, so I get that they are calling the Governor a dumb dumb. But what does Santa Claus have to do with any of this!?! 'Weird' is the only word to describe it.
